Composing “Loudoun Pastorale”

Quentin Walston was granted The Loudoun Arts Council’s COLLAB Artist Residency for the winter 2020 season. His project is to compose a new suite of music based on artworks of local artists. The selected artworks feature pastoral scenes of Quentin’s home county of Loudoun, Virginia. Five artworks will be paired with the five movements of his new musical work. Each unique and captivating, the instrumentation will vary based on the mood and colors of each piece. Instruments will include Quentin on piano, as well as musicians on saxophone, cello, bassoon, and clarinet.

The performance will be on March 21st at 12 noon at Rust Library in Leesburg, Virginia. Attendance is free and all are welcome!
