A new suite inspired by art: “Loudoun Pastorale”

Success! You're on the list.

Quentin Walston was granted The Loudoun Arts Council’s COLLAB Artist Residency for the winter 2020 season. His project was to compose a new suite of music based on artworks of local artists. Selected artworks feature pastoral scenes of Quentin’s home county of Loudoun, Virginia. In each movement of the suite, Quentin tries to use tone colors and different instruments to match the paintings. The movements include piano, cello, saxophone, clarinet, and bassoon. Contributing artists are Hope Hanes, Jill Poyerd, Lori Goll, Kathleen Howsare, and Leanne Fink.

The March 21st premier has been postponed to fall of 2020 at Rust Library in Leesburg, Virginia. Attendance is free and all are welcome!
